Wake Up Delaware - Smyrna Fire House

On Saturday March 10, 2007, the Citizens’ Hose Company participated in “Wake Up Delaware”, a statewide smoke detector give away campaign. 133 Smoke Detectors and 48 batteries were given away to members of the community for free. “Wake Up Delaware” has been in existence since 2002 with a primary focus of supplying free smoke detectors to citizens of the community. Each fire department in the state participates in the campaign to ensure the citizens of Delaware have the opportunity to protect themselves and their family members. Although this day is dedicated to giving away free smoke detectors throughout the state, smoke detectors are available all year long by contacting your local fire department.
