Car Fire on Rt. 13 - Rt. 13 NB a/o Cahall & Sons Inc.

At 1202 Sta. 44 unit were alerted for a reported automobile fire in the 2900 Block of DuPont Blvd. E44-4 under command of 44-18, Capt. Hankins went responding within minutes with a crew of 4. On arrival a small SUV was found fully involved. Crews stretched a 1 3/4" handline and quickly knocked down the bulk of fire. Upon the arrival of E44-5 crews assisted with extinguishment using the booster line, and opening of the doors and hood with hand tools for overhaul. 44-18 placed the scene under control at 1215, with units working. All 44 units were back in quarters at 1235. Sta. 44 units were in service for 33 minutes, and had 30 men respond to assist. OIC was Capt. Isaac J. Hankins Units responding: E44-4, E44-5, 44-0, DSP, & DelDot.
