Saturday, January 30, 2010
At 1901 Sta. 44 units were dispatched for a reported chimney fire at 41 S. Main St. E44-2 under command of Capt. Jarman responded in less than 2 minutes. Upon arrival crews found an active fire in the chimney. In order to access the chimney crews had to throw a series of ground ladders on the different sections of roof to access the top due to the configuration of the house. While crews on the roof dragged the chimney with chains, crews inside moved the wood stove, and took apart the flu insert to get to the burning debris in the flu. 44-18 placed the scene under control and all units were back in quarters at 1957. OIC was Capt. Jim Jarman.
