Controlled Burn - Smyrna-Clayton Blvd & W. Glenwood Ave.
Saturday, April 10, 2010
On Sat. 4/10 the CHC along with assistance from Sta. 45 performed a controled burn of a 2 story single family residence at the intersection of Rt. 6 & Rt. 300. The property is owned by the American Legion Ambulance 64, and the site is being cleared in order for thier new station to be built. In the weeks prior to the burning, the house was used for in-house training by both stations. The CHC used the house for training on both ground ladders, and aerial operation on L-44, and practiced using power tools, and ventilation techniques of a roof. Then Sta. 45 members practiced RIT training on the inside of the structure. Thanks to Sta. 64 for allowing us to perform training, and burning the house.
Units responding: E44-2, E44-4, R-44, T-44, 44-10, E45-3, R-45, CV-45, and fire police from both stations.
