Water Leak - 65 Malvern Lane

At 1352, CHC was dispatched for a general water flow alarm. Engine 44-2 under the command of 44-23 (Neeld) responded within minutes. Upon arrival, crews found a sprinkler pipe that had ruptured and blew out a portion of the dry wall on the third floor of a vacant apartment. The leak flooded the second and third floors of the apartment and spread into neighboring apartments. Crews from Engine 2, Engine 3, Ladder 44 and Rescue 44 used water vacuums to remove the water from the apartments. The Town of Smyrna Public Works department responded to shut off the water.
